Government Auctions - Used and sold, no catches

Share
Government auctions are your answer if you want to drive a Jaguar or Lexus, a car that you have always wanted to own but could never afford. There have been many instances when we have seen a BMW or a Mercedes Benz on the road and they speed away before you can change gears in your car. The only thing that crosses our mind at that point is they must be very rich or a leading personality in the town to drive in such a luxurious car. For all you know, they might have picked up the car at a Government auction for $750 - $1000. Since many are not aware of these auctions, the select few take advantage and benefit from them. Most of the cars at the auction are Government seized cars that might have been brought in by the police or by others who reported sights of abandoned cars in their streets.

While picking up a car through Government auctions, make sure to check the condition of the car to not get conned into buying a car which is missing a few parts which was removed when it was seized. Not all cars are in such conditions, most of them are actually be in good condition and there would be no problem with you buying such a car. If you were able to outbid the others and yours is the highest price quoted, the Mercedes could become yours. It is now your turn to take the car out on the streets and show it off to the world and maybe make another soul like yours jealous. Little do people realize that through these Government auctions one can buy a car they normally would not be able to afford. And this is possible only because Government would do anything to be rid of the cars that are accumulated in their storage place.

Now, depending on whether you desire a luxury car or just wish to purchase a car at a price cheaper than at the car dealer, you can try government car auctions. They even have fleet cars and surplus vehicles for your benefit. Some of the others might have been condemned or and rendered old, but will be in good running condition and give decent mileages. If you are a smart buyer, you will be able to find some interesting and high saving deals at these Government auctions. And since these auctions are not held after doing a lot of advertising, it is only a certain group of people who are aware of their operations and schedules. Therefore, they benefit from them and might spread the word to their friends or family members if are looking to purchase a car.

At almost all government car auctions, the interested parties are allowed to view the vehicles that are up for auction and conduct physical checks they deem necessary. Also, never get into a bidding competition with other people if you are not aware of how much the car is worth.

Planning to buy a car from an auction place? Be very careful while making your decision about buying the car from an auction place. There are various ways you can purchase the car from an auction place. You must be aware of public auction. There are other ways available too. Let us try to understand various types of car auctions available to you.

Wholesale and Manheim Car Auctions - this car auction is not for you. Wholesale or Manheim car auctions are meant for auto dealers, the licensed ones. Common man like you and me can't even attend this auction.
Salvage auctions - again, not meant for common public. These cars are in such a poor state that a mechanic or a pro in the industry can only dare buy cars from such auctions. Don't ever think of bidding for a car in salvage car auction unless you are a pro in the same trade.

Government or Police car auction - here the cars for sale are those which have been discarded by the government agencies or those which have been confiscated by the police. General perception is that one can get a car at a lower price in such auction. You may be grossly wrong. First, the cars may be in such a horrible state that you may need lot of money to restore its original condition. Secondly, you may never know about the history of the car. Ensure that you have run through Carfax history report for the same. Last thing to remember - you may have to shell out commission to the auction agency over and above the bid price. Always keep almost 15-20% extra money ready than your bid amount

Online auctions - relatively a new concept in car auction. This concept caught up with the advent of internet, and caught fire through ebay motors, their car auction site. Online car auction offers the convenience of buying the animal from the sitting comforts of your home. However, don't get carried away by the claims and other bids for the car. It may be a frame work by other bidders. Problems with online car auctions lies with the fact that you have to bid for the vehicle you haven't seen. It is always better to run a price check in the local market for a similar car model.

If you still decide to enter into any of the auction processes through any of these, look for history report and VIN for the car in question.

Online Used Car Auctions Versus Live Used Car Auctions

Share
Are you interested in buying a used car? If you are, have you ever thought about buying a used car from an auto auction? Buying a used car through an auto auction, which is also commonly referred to as a used car auction, is a great way to find a large selection of quality, reliable, yet affordable used cars for sale.

When it comes to buying a used car from a used car auction, you will find that you have a number of different options. Two of your most common options include attending a live used car auction or participating in an online used car auction. If this is your first time attempting to buy a used car from an auto auction, you may be unsure as to which type of used car auction you should choose. When it comes to making a decision, it is best if you first take the time to familiarize yourself with both online auto auctions and live auto auctions.

As you likely already know, online used car auctions are auto auctions that take place over the internet. These auctions, themselves, come in a number of different formats. For instance, it is possible to buy a used car from an online auction website. Over the past few years, the popularity of online auction websites has skyrocketed. That is what has led many car owners to list their used cars for sale online. The only downside to doing so is that you honestly know nothing about the car seller. It can be difficult, if not completely impossible, to tell if they even have the for sale car in their possession. Also, online auction websites allow car owners from all across the country sell cars online. While this does give you a larger selection of cars to choose from, it can make the delivery costly.

Another type of online auto auction that you should be able to find online is auto auctions that are operated by traditional auction houses or companies. Due to the popularity of the internet, a large number of auction owners are rethinking the way that they do business. Many are now starting to replace their live auctions with online auctions and many are even deciding to do both. When an auction house or company decides to have an online used car auction, they often do so right on their own webpage. What is nice about participating in this type of auction is that you should be able to find a local auction company. This would make the delivery of the vehicle in question easier and it may give you the opportunity to stop by and examine or inspect the vehicle that you would be interested in bidding on.

While online auto auctions do sound appealing, mostly because of their convenience, there is nothing like attending a real, live auto auction. In fact, it is often recommended that those who want to buy a used car from a used car auction attend a live one. Live auto auctions are nice as you are able to choose which auctions you would like to attend. This means that if you live in a specific area, like the Chicago area, you can choose to attend a local used car auction, instead of one that is located too far away. You also have the option of choosing to attend a free used car auction or one that requires the payment of an admission fee; the decision is yours to make.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of buying a used car from a live used car auction is the fact that you are able to see the car for yourself. In fact, you can often do more than just see the car. Many used car auction houses or companies have scheduled inspection sessions. These sessions are where you are able to inspect each used car that you may be interested in buying, inside and out.

Of course, the decision as to whether you would like to buy a used car from a live used car auction or an online used car auction is yours to make, but you should know that many car owners report success when buying from a live auto auction. For starters, you may want to check out the live used car auctions hosted by North Shore Auto Auction. Should you not find what you are looking for, you can then continue to examine your other options; options that may include online used car auctions.

Chicago Residents: Your Used Car Auction Options Reviewed

Share
Are you a Chicago resident who is looking to buy a used car? If you are, you may want to think about buying a used car from a Chicago auction. When it comes to choosing a Chicago auction to attend, you will find that you have a number of different choices.

A common type of auction that many people attend, even when looking for a used car, is an auction where a large number of items are for sale, including used cars. These types of auctions are not always done on a scheduled basis though. Many times, the items being auctioned off are part of an estate or a business closing. Yes, you may be able to find an auction like this in the Chicago area where a used car or two is present, but you may want to look at auctions that are referred to as used car auctions.

Used car auctions are auctions that specialize solely in the auctioning of used vehicles. What is nice about used car auctions is that well-known auction houses or even auto repair companies often host them. Also, you are often able to get access to a large number of vehicles. Depending on the used car auction that you choose to attend, there may be as many as fifty used cars present. Used car auctions, unlike many traditional estate auctions, are often held on a scheduled, predetermined basis.

If you are interested in attending a used car auction, you will find that you have number of different used car auctions to attend, just in or around the Chicago area. For that reason, you may want to take the time to choose which used car auction or auctions that you want to attend. To save yourself time and possible even money, you will want to look at used car auctions that give you the opportunity to inspect all vehicles before placing a bid. It is also advised that you try to attend public used car auctions, as you do not need to have a dealer’s license or other documentation to bid on a vehicle. There are also used car auctions where you are required to pay an admission free, but many allow free entrance.

In addition to attending a used car auction that is hosted by an auction house or an auto repair company, you may also be able to find auctions in and around the Chicago area that are sometimes referred to as police auctions. Police auctions vary from auction to auction, but they do typically have a number of used cars available for bidding; however, the number usually is not as high as it is with the used car auctions outlined above. Often times, a police auction involves the auctioning of old police cars, as well as cars and other vehicles that may have been impounded or confiscated during a criminal investigation.

In addition to used car auctions that you can attend, you may also be able to find a number of used car auctions online. Online used car auctions are starting to increase in popularity. When it comes to online used car auctions, it is common for a number of individual auctions to be hosted on an online bidding website. While these bidding sites may be a great way to get a used car, you need to keep the current location of the cars in mind. For instance, if you live in or around the Chicago area, it may be costly for you to buy a car and transport it from New York.

The other type of online used car auctions that you may be able to find are ones that are hosted by auction houses or even auto repair companies. Instead of having a live auction, there are some individuals and companies who are now choosing to do online used car auctions instead and some are even deciding to do both. The only downside is that you may not get to inspect the used cars before hand.

As you can see, from outlined above, it is possible to buy a used car from a number of different auctions. While you may not necessarily see the same success, many used car auction buyers have had success with live used car auctions. If you are interested in attending a live used car auction, you may want to examine the auctions hosted by North Shore Auto Auction.

Hydrogen Cars vs. Hybrid Cars

Share
Imagine the near future. You bend down, stick your head underneath your tailpipe and take good long sip. You could do that with a hydrogen car. These cars are not fully on the market yet. But as people flock to buy hybrid cars, they wonder if just maybe a better car is coming out. The concept of that better car is the hydrogen car. And some people think hybrid cars just can't compare. Below, you will find out a few things about hydrogen cars.

Hydrogen cars do not generate power by burning anything

Instead of burning a bit of fuel, like hybrid cars too, hydrogen cars burn absolutely nothing. What happens instead is a chemical reaction. Hydrogen and oxygen get converted into energy and their byproduct is water. Hybrid cars certainly can't do that. And no one is trying to make hybrid cars do anything like that.

Hydrogen in hydrogen cars gives three times the power of gasoline

Not only does hydrogen burn hotter than gasoline, but it also burns faster. That means hydrogen cars can probably go zooming down the highway at unbelievable speeds. They can probably come to a dead stop and start right up to keep up with the traffic in about zero seconds per minute. Boy, talk about the future. Hybrid cars just can't compete with that kind of efficiency. Hybrid-car batteries certainly don't burn hotter and faster than hydrogen.

Some people think that hydrogen cars are some sort of hyped-up fantasy

Many people think that hybrid cars are much more feasible than hydrogen cars. And hybrid cars already cut down emissions from 30 to 50%. So why in the world would people want to invest time and money in hydrogen cars?

Hydrogen is a not a fuel source, but a fuel carrier

That means that hydrogen has to be produced from other sources. And people are hoping that hydrogen will be able to be produced from things such as wind power or other types of renewable sources. Right now, it looks like all we have is natural gas. That is the most efficient way to get hydrogen. And if that's the case, then there's no need to make hydrogen cars. Hybrid cars already cut down on how much gas people use. Who needs hydrogen cars that may end up costing us more in natural gas?

It will be hard create a lot of stations to fuel hydrogen cars

People are saying there is an overwhelming amount of challenges when it comes to creating the multitudes of hydrogen fueling stations that would be needed if millions of people suddenly started owning hydrogen cars. Hybrid cars use gas. And we already have gas stations.

But president Bush has made it clear that he wants hydrogen cars to be on the roads in significant numbers by the year 2020. So it seems that those who oppose hydrogen cars might just have to hold their breath and see if hydrogen cars actually live up to the lofty promises people associate with them. If they don't live up to their promises, people will probably start running back to hybrid cars in droves. And that's not too bad. Hybrid cars or hydrogen cars, one of them is going to get us to cleaner air.
